The above-referenced work (hereinafter referred to as "Work") which is exclusively owned by (hereinafter referred to as "Author") has been officially reviewed as of and accepted for publication by C.F.P. (hereinafter referred to as "Publisher"). Expiration date (45 days after reviewed date)
Publication Specialist: A Publication Specialist will be assigned to oversee all aspects of the publication process. Author will be given complete access to all workflows through a personalized online author portal.
Full Copy Edit: Publisher will assign a copy editor to extensively review the Work to ensure proper syntax, word usage, sentence structure, and consistency in adherence with the standards of the Chicago Manual of Style.
Page Design: Publisher will assign a Page Designer to ensure consistency of headings and chapters, and to implement elements of typographical style, including font size, font choices, margins, paragraph, and sentence formatting.
Cover Art: Publisher will produce a premium, custom cover design based on Author's input. The final selection of cover art shall be at the sole discretion of Author.
Conversion to Various Digital Formats: Publisher will convert the Work to the appropriate digital formats so that it may be offered for sale with the Apple, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Google Play eBook retail platforms.
Printed Editions of the Work: Complimentary editions of the Work, professionally printed with a full-color front and back cover, will be produced and delivered to Author's designated address as stated above.
Author Discount Program: Author may purchase an unlimited number of additional wholesale copies of the print editions of the Work for private sale by Author, directly from Publisher at a discount of 40% off the retail price, plus shipping and applicable taxes.
ISBN: Publisher will obtain, on behalf of Author, ISBNs for all editions of the Work. The ISBNs will list Author as the original owner and author of the Work, and Publisher as the authorized Publisher.
Digital Distribution: Publisher will submit Author's Work for distribution to prevalent digital distribution outlets including Amazon, Apple iTunes, Barnes & Noble, and Google Play.
Print Distribution: Publisher will list the print edition(s) of Author's Work for wholesale distribution via Publisher's Ingram Content Network account so that it may be offered for sale in worldwide retail outlets and via Amazon's print distribution platform.
Returned Works: All costs and expenses for returned Works shall be borne solely by Publisher. Pricing of the Work shall be determined by Publisher with material input from Author.
Author Web Page: Publisher will create a custom web page for Author on Publishers website. This page shall contain Author's cover art, a synopsis of Author's book, and direct links to the purchase page of digital platforms offering Author's book for sale so that viewers may easily purchase the Work.
Publicity and Press Release Distribution: Publisher's publicity team will create a custom press release that will be sent by a premier third-party newswire firm to a targeted priority list of media including local, regional, and national print, broadcast, and online sources. This press release will contain a link to the Author's web page which is described above. Author hereby gives Publisher the authority to distribute, at Publisher's sole expense, as many free digital and print versions of the Work as Publisher deems necessary in order for Publisher to promote the Work.
Author Royalties: Publisher shall pay to Author all funds Publisher receives from the respective vendors for sales of the printed and digital copies of the Work, less a 50 cent commission/administrative fee per copy sold. Quarterly accounting reports listing all sales from each distribution outlet and all net profit generated, as per each respective outlet's most recent terms and conditions, will be provided to Author by Publisher.
Recoupment of Author's Investment: Publisher shall not be entitled to any commission/administrative fee as defined above until such time that Author has received a sum total of print and eBook book sales revenue equal to the amount invested by Author under this Agreement.
For authors seeking additional marketing strategies, the following comprehensive package is available. Please note that these items are in addition to the press release distribution campaign and author web page included in the Print and eBook Package above.
Creation of an Author YouTube Channel: Publisher will establish a YouTube channel for Author's book marketing campaigns. The book's Video Trailer and Zoom Interview (below) will be posted to this YouTube channel. A corresponding Gmail account will also be created and linked to the YouTube channel, both of which will be transferred to Author upon completion of the marketing campaigns.
Promotional Video Trailer: This 30-second video production shall include high-resolution images of the book's cover design, images related to the theme/story, and information as to the various outlets where the book is available for purchase. This promotional video trailer will be posted to Author's YouTube channel.
Video Interview via Zoom: A video interview will be conducted with Author via a video conferencing service like Zoom or equivalent, by an experienced book interviewer/journalist and will be edited to a finished length of three to five minutes. This pre-recorded, professionally edited video will be posted to Author's YouTube channel.
Podcast Interview on the ReaderHouse Author Roundtable: This interview, conducted by the ReaderHouse Author Roundtable host, will concentrate on Author's book and background. The podcast interview will be no less than three minutes in length and will be pre-recorded and professionally edited. It will be streamed to potential readers/customers through the ReaderHouse weekly Author Roundtable show, which is available through podcast services like Amazon, Apple, Stitcher, Spotify, Google, and equivalent podcast streaming services.
Banner Advertisement on the Homepage of the ReaderHouse Online Bookstore Website: Publisher will create a banner advertisement for the Work and cause this banner advertisement to be displayed for a period of three (3) months amongst the rotating slide of banner ads on the homepage of the ReaderHouse online bookstore.
Pinterest Business Account: Publisher will create a Pinterest Business account for Author, will create ten (10) "pins" based on the subject matter of the Work, and will publish these pins to Author's Pinterest profile. Upon completion, the Pinterest profile will be released/transferred to Author.
Facebook Social Media Launch Package: Publisher will create and launch an author-specific Facebook social media kickoff campaign with initial graphics and posts. Creation of this kickoff campaign will commence immediately after distribution of the press release, so that the campaign can maximize any obtained exposure. The campaign will consist of the establishment of a Facebook page (to be associated with Author's personal Facebook page for security and Author accessibility purposes) containing Author's book cover art and a direct link to Author's web page and Instagram page. Author will be responsible for monitoring and responding to all interactions, and the campaign will be released and turned over to Author after the final post. The campaign will include twelve initial posts:
Four engaging posts such as what motivated Author to write the book, Author's goals, whether any sequels are planned, inspirational or motivational quotes from Author, etc.
Four posts to direct sales traffic (Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, etc.)
Four informational posts (at Author's discretion) such as About the Book, Meet the Author, Video Trailer, Teaser Passages, Author-autographed Giveaways, etc.
If choosing this Masterpiece option, Author acknowledges that all marketing services will occur after publication of all editions of the book, such that all editions can be promoted together.
